AJS Express is a Courier Service based in Northamptonshire, providing reliable and cost-effective logistics for businesses around the UK.

History

AJS Express Parcels Limited was formed in November 2018 by Tony Spooner. He started out by delivering parcels for a Worldwide E-Commerce company, whilst at the same time building the AJS Express brand. By getting to know local businesses through networking and having the desire to provide a better delivery experience, he gained AJS Express’ first customer. And the next…and the next…

A year later the business was operating multiple vehicles, Tony had won ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the 2019 SME Northants Business Awards and there were now 2 owners of AJS Express to ensure that the high levels of service continued to be provided.

As of 2022, AJS Express continue to serve their loyal customers, ensuring all their requirements are taken care of. Whether a customer since the inception of AJS Express, or a new business at the beginning of their journey, AJS Express consistently delivers in all aspects.

Meet the team

Tony Spooner – Founder and Managing Director

The Founder of the business, Tony formed AJS Express at the age of 29 years. He had been in the printing industry for 10 years; however, he had reached a point in his career where he felt he could no longer progress in this field.

He enrolled in a HNC for Business Administration, with the view to start up his own business. Tony followed a path that would play to his strengths, which ultimately led to the creation of AJS Express. He is the face of the business, delivery driver and chief strategist.

Lauren Dean – Operations Director

Lauren became joint owner in September 2019. From the age of 17 to 30 she had worked for the same employer in the tile industry. From receptionist to sales and administration, Lauren eventually settled in the finance team as a manager. At the same time, her partner Tony set up AJS Express!

A year into her role, Lauren realised that her wide range of skills obtained through her various positions would be invaluable to Tony and AJS Express, as the business was experiencing rapid growth. She came onboard as Finance Director, eventually transitioning to Operations Director.

There isn’t much that Lauren doesn’t do, including carrying out deliveries and ensuring all our customers receive the best service possible. But her most challenging job is keeping Tony’s feet on the ground!
